The National Basketball Association, or NBA, is a professional basketball league comprised of 30 teams across North America featuring the best basketball players in the world from the Sports industry. They were one of my clients while I was working as Senior Agile Project Manager at an IT Consulting company called Semantix.

Overview
Problem Statement
The NBA has a Brazilian office located in São Paulo and there was an big investor from Sports industry that closed deal with Brazilian NBA to open a new NBA flagship store in a Sao Paulo´s high-end shopping mall. Investor needed a ecommerce platform to manage all new store operations, including official size basketball court to be rented by clients, basketball classes, product sales (T-shirts, Shorts, Basket balls, etc).

Constraints
The scope was getting changed multiple times by the NBA Store Business team and it was expected as that was the very first Brazilian flagship store with the new business model, including the new process of renting official size basketball court. Several back-and-forth discussions took place and the timeline to gran opening was also short, increasing risk.
Summarized Process Breakdown
1st. Step) Receive demand from client.
2nd. Step) Scheduled several calls between IT Consulting and Client where we were shown client demands, ideas, and needs for their e-commerce special platform mostly because of the official size basketball court rental.
3rd. Step) IT consulting discussed internally and started creating a mock version with basic functionalities, graphics, Rental options, etc, and presented to the client.
Project Results
NBA Store owner and his business team were very satisfied with the result and together we managed to deliver as per plan, allowing NBA to use our platform to train their brand new employees.
Mostly because of brand new official size basketball court rental, NBA Store sold a Latin America record in Rental and Products, including membership among all other NBA Stores. Later features were also requested from the BNA Store Business team and implemented by the IT consulting company a few months after, increasing sales by in additional 50%.
